From managing a small natural foods retail store and restaurant in San Diego in the 1980s, to merchandising big department displays of organic produce in a busy co-op in the early 1990s, my work background begins in retail. Into the mid 1990s, big business book distribution, book publishing, and media bookings for a bestselling author. Into the 2000s, magazine distribution.
20 years later, developing new business models to generate new revenue streams, and sourcing quality products domestically and overseas to introduce new product lines in multiple retail market channels to drive incremental profits.
In high volume big $$$ retail arena, new products must perform and justify the real estate. Revenue and gross profit #’s must work. Productivity and ROI analytics will be measured. Inventory control, high product turns, and managing shrink provide sound business value.
